Replacement Prestolite Electronic Ignition Module 65-190 with Round Grommet. IDU-3003A, (Distributors built prior to 1986), **ATTENTION**WARNING** PRESTOLITE HAD SEVERAL VARIATIONS WITH THE RUBBER GROMMET ON ELECTRICAL LEADS, THEREFORE TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH U.S.COAST GUARD REGULATIONS, THE INSTALLER MUST SEAL THE RUBBER GROMMET WITH SILICONE WHEN INSTALLING INTO DISTRIBUTOR HOUSING. For newer Distributors built after 1987 with "SQUARE" grommet, installer must remove "SQUARE" grommet from module being replaced, install the "SQUARE" grommet on new replacement module and seal area completely with silicone to be protected and in compliance with USCG regulations. Service note: Most non-spark issues are a result of improper air gap between trigger wheel "teeth" (high point of trigger wheel) and the face of the sensor (pick up), gap must be between .008" to .010", use a non-magnetic feeler gauge. Tighten the sensor retaining screw to 3 to 5 inch pounds of torque.
